at FIFA World Cup Community Canada connects with Volunteers

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022's kickoff is rapidly approaching.

Representatives from participating teams will use the time to engage, inspire and connect with people important to the tournament's success in preparation for the event.

It is only hours before FIFA's Football Unites the World campaign. The teams will spend an hour meeting with local workers, youths from Qatar, volunteers and others.

The Community Engagement Events were presented to the 32 FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Teams Workshop participants in Doha in August.

Canada participated in the first Community Engagement Event since Mexico 1986. Canada was the first nation to select the Coaching Volunteers program

Mark-Anthony Kaye of Toronto FC, a midfielder, participated in the session. The session proved to be a huge success with Canada's players and volunteers.

Kaye stated that it was amazing to be able interact with the Volunteers before the World Cup begins, when everything gets chaotic and the days get busy.

And I am just happy they are able see us players, realise that we're just like them, are human beings, and have emotion and passion about the game.
