Wayne Rooney reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo's contract being terminated
Wayne Rooney, Manchester United legend, shared his thoughts about Cristiano Ronaldo's termination of his contract.
Red Devils made it clear Tuesday (November 22nd) that they had ended the forward's contract and reached a mutually beneficial agreement.
This announcement follows his explosive interview in which Piers Morgan slammed Manchester United. Ronaldo said that the club had not progressed
since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, 2013 and that they betrayed his memory. The ex-real Madrid man also blasted Erik ten Hag, former United striker Rooney.
Rooney, who spoke after Ronaldo's contract was terminated, expressed sadness for his former teammate's departure.
It's sad that a player as Cristiano Ronaldo, which I've often said is one of my favorite players, has to go.
It's a shame, because he has been a great servant for #mufc. I wish him all of the best in whatever club he chooses.
I don’t know why he makes such harsh remarks about me. Perhaps he’s finished his career and I’m still playing at a high standard.
Erik ten Hag, the manager, prefers to use the veteran forward off of the bench this campaign. It certainly hasn’t been a good fit for him.
