The 2026 World Cup's location is unique as it will be hosted in three North American countries , the United States of America, Mexico, and Canada.
Since 2002, when Japan and South Korea shared hosting duties, the World Cup has been hosted by multiple countries.
After a long process of candidate selection, 16 cities were announced in June. The American cities are East Rutherford (Pennsylvania)
Boston, Atlanta, Miami and Houston as well as Dallas, Kansas City and Seattle. Mexico City, Guadalajara or Monterrey are some of the Mexican cities.
Canadian cities include Toronto, Vancouver, and Toronto. This marks Mexico's third attempt at hosting the event,
the United States second and Canada first. In order to accommodate large numbers of visitors, all of the venues are NFL stadiums.
A FIFA vote was held in 2017 and 48 teams were selected to participate in the 2026 World Cup. Previously, the standard was 32.
